There’s something pretty special about being invit There’s something pretty special about being invited back to photograph another wedding within the same family. Jenna and Hayden’s wedding was actually the fourth family wedding I’ve had the privilege of photographing, so it was brilliant to catch up with everyone again. It was also my first time photographing at Whistle Barns, and what a beautiful place for a wedding. One of the things I love about photographing weddings is that the job is never really just about taking photographs. There’s usually a fair bit of everything else thrown in too...fixing buttonholes, fastening shoes, reorganising furniture, helping other suppliers and generally just lending a hand wherever I can. And not forgetting balancing things on my head during the family portraits to raise a smile from the kids. 😂 I think that’s one of my favourite parts of the job. Being able to read what’s going on around me, help where I can and hopefully make the day that little bit easier, without taking over it. Such a fun evening stroll with Macauley, Jack and Such a fun evening stroll with Macauley, Jack and their gorgeous pooch Hunter for their engagement shoot in the Peak District. Hunter took a little convincing when I first arrived with the cameras, but he soon decided I wasn't too bad after all. 😂 🐾 We walked through the woods and up onto Stanage Edge, stopping at different spots along the way for photos, plenty of laughs and a bit of exploring. We even found the famous rock where Keira Knightley stood in the film Pride & Prejudice. 🎬 I've known Macauley for years through the wedding industry, having worked alongside her at lots of different venues, so I'm genuinely so pleased to be photographing her and Jack's wedding in Italy next year. We started with some beautiful golden light filtering through the woods before the clouds rolled in as we reached the top. We didn't quite get the big sunset we were hoping for, but the changing light gave us a lovely mix of warm, soft portraits and some much more dramatic landscapes. And a special mention to Amy @bradders02_x who was on full multitasking duties as dog handler, bag carrier and chief flash holder! 😂 A brilliant evening with great company, a very good boy and plenty of laughs. Roll on Italy. 🇮🇹❤️
A lovely little wedding celebration with this bril A lovely little wedding celebration with this brilliant couple. It was great to capture their ceremony at Chesterfield Town Hall before they head abroad to celebrate all over again. After the ceremony, we headed into the Town Hall gardens for some portraits, including cracking out a few smoke bombs, which I’m sure aren’t allowed but we were quick! 😂 We then headed to The Market Pub, which had been beautifully styled for their small group. Although I was only booked to capture the ceremony and a few photos afterwards, they very kindly invited me to stay for food. It was great to put the camera down, have a chat with their lovely guests and enjoy being part of the celebrations. The bridal suite at Dunston never fails for gorgeous light and what a beautiful moment when the bride’s dad saw her for the first time. So nice to finally shoot an outdoor ceremony here. Blue skies, plenty of sunshine and the perfect setting for it. The day was chilled in the glorious courtyard before @cfr.group and @mrsaxuk absolutely smashed it in the evening.
