Hi, my name is Adam Elijah, a UK and destination wedding photographer. I live near Sheffield with my beautiful wife Victoria and our two rascals Elijah Rex and Adelaide Dove. For the past 4 years I have been trying to get one photo of them both looking and smiling at the camera. To date I haven’t achieved this. Fellow parents will understand.
I have been shooting weddings for 8 years and I feel very lucky to say I love my job. I came from a big family with five brothers and one sister, so I value authenticity, friendship and connection. This is why I love weddings and immersing myself within the day.
Some fun facts about me…
– Average DIYer and I have recently finished renovating our 1850s victorian home, Chaos at 43.
– I have degrees in Business & Marketing, but please don’t ask me about the Seven P’s as I can’t remember a thing.
– I used to love reading, but I’m too busy with children and weddings these days.
– I have visited most regions in France and would love to own my own farmhouse and vineyard there one day.
– In relation to point above, I love a good bold red wine.
– Besides photography, I couldn’t live without music, coffee and ice cream.
My style is a blend of documentary with modern dramatic portraiture using clean and crisp colours. I don’t like overly warm photos that make everything and everyone look orange. So, if you love the natural look, but want a little more punch and drama, then we will be a great match. About 90% of the day will be natural candid documentary, but you won’t find me lurking in the shadows all day. My best photos are taken when I’m in the mix with your guests. I’m a social person and find that chatting and the odd joke helps people relax, and that’s when I get the best photos. How can I tell your story, if I can’t hear the story.
I also like to get artistic with light on a wedding day. During the couple portraits I will always use my imagination to produce some dramatic photos for your album. Finding the perfect backdrop, such as old doors, big trees and crumbling walls, is part of the art behind my images.
When I got married I was like “wow, where did the day go”. Therefore, I plan every wedding to ensure couples get some alone time and opportunities to chat with their guests. I like to split the couple photos into two parts, with a few photos after the ceremony and some at dusk, depending on available daylight.
I personally believe that photographers have more insight into what actually goes on during weddings as we are close to the action all day. Over the years I have learned how to help the day flow and ensure everyone is in the right place at the right time. Wedding photography isn’t just about taking beautiful photos, it’s about creative direction, without interfering too much. This requires compassion, creativity and above all kindness and consideration.
If you would like a photographer that is easy going, friendly and will let you enjoy your day whilst capturing stunning photographs, then I’m your man. I’m not a bossy person, but I will take control of situations to ensure the day goes to plan.
Above all, my main goal is to capture lasting memories for you and your family whilst helping you enjoy the experience. If that sounds okay I’d love to join you for a coffee, mainly because coffee is my life, but also because I would love to meet you and hear about your wedding plans.
To check my availability please complete my contact form and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I offer a free no-obligations consultation, usually over tea or coffee. If you book I’ll email you an agreement / booking form and once you have paid the £150 deposit to secure your date. Your wedding date is not secure until I have received your deposit.
I’m happy to do a handful of group shots as it is often a photo the parents or grandparents would like. However, I limit the number of group photos to 8 groups and do these straight after the ceremony.
I probably hear this at every wedding. I always do my best to help you relax on the day and enjoy the experience of being photographed. I plan the day to suit you and portraits are done in a relaxed, informal and fun way.
I do my best to get all weddings creatively edited and the online gallery live within four weeks. However, during my busiest months in June to August it can take up to six weeks to get a wedding fully processed.
I would have to be very ill. But I work closely with lots of great wedding photographers who would be happy to help out in an emergency.
All clients will receive their own personal online gallery for sharing photos with family and friends. This gallery is password protected and has multiple functions including selecting favourites for the album, purchasing small prints, slideshows and sharing directly to your social pages. Clients also get the full size Jpegs on disk and are instructed to make a backup of these images for safe-keeping.
Most definitely, we have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
Yes, most definitely, we are happy to take the lead or spend time beforehand going over preferred locations for photos.
It’s popular belief that rain on your wedding day is a good sign of your future together but appreciate it can mean changes to the agreed photography schedule. In the event of forecasted rain Adam Elijah Photography will make preparations with the couple and offer alternative ideas for shooting indoors. Rainy weather also makes for some truly wonderful photos, so bring your brolly and smile and we’ll do the rest.
Not at all, we shoot with the highest specification cameras and lens that do not require flash in low light situations. We also always speak to the vicar or priest before the ceremony to make sure we know any ground rules.
I don’t offer videography as my focus is 100% on capturing candid photos throughout the whole day. However, I work closely with a local videographer that I’m happy to recommend as I have worked with them on many occasions.
I love travelling and visiting new places. I’m willing to go anywhere in the UK or abroad to capture your wedding.
